Yea. It’s my birthday.

🎶Na the day wey I come to join the people wey been don stay for this world before I come ooo. Ehe ehe ehe.

Supposing that you do not know me, my name is Ebelechukwu Ubaka and I got licensed to practice architecture in Nigeria as at October 2023.

Prior to that time, I have been practicing under a licensed Architect in Enugu.

Recently, I made a shift to go into traditional architecture. More like African Tropical architecture.

For me, it is the architecture that is suitable for people in the hot solar region.

I know what just came to your mind. It’s not just mud architecture in the way our ancestors handled it.

But more of the principles. This starts sometime next year.

I’m learning the application of the principles of traditional architecture and how to apply it in modern buildings.

My learning method involves an apprenticeship style and so I am not allowed to handle such buildings on my own at the moment.

You might wonder what inspired me to go into this.

Well, it’s not one thing. It’s a series of activities that led me to this moment.

From visiting old buildings that had very cool interiors without the use of fans and Air-conditioners to when I stumbled upon an article while freely writing for an architecture company.

So, you see, I want to recreate that feeling I got from such old buildings.

I didn’t want to step out into the blazing sun after my body had calmed down and adjusted to the interior when I walked in.

I hope to carry you along in this journey as I learn.

And remember to always look up.
